Home Care Services · Northern Virginia
The right support can change the rhythm of a day.
Harbor provides non-medical personal care and respite support designed around the client’s routines, preferences, approved service plan, and the realities of life at home.
What Harbor Provides
Two focused services. One goal: make home easier to manage.
Harbor stays focused on the non-medical support families most often need to keep daily life moving safely and respectfully.
Personal Care
Help with the everyday routines that matter most.
Respectful help with approved personal routines, mobility, meals, companionship, and other daily-living tasks at home.
Learn About Personal Care →Respite Care
Reliable support when a family caregiver needs time back.
Scheduled non-medical relief so a family caregiver can rest, work, attend appointments, or manage other responsibilities.
Learn About Respite Care →Care That Fits the Household
Good support should feel like part of the day—not a disruption to it.
Harbor begins with the client’s needs, preferences, written service plan, and the routines already established at home.
- Respect for established routines and preferences
- Clear boundaries around approved aide duties
- Communication with the client, family, and care team
- Support that can be reviewed as needs change
The Harbor Difference
We want families to understand the care—not decode it.
Clear expectations are part of good care. Harbor explains what the service includes, what may require authorization, what the aide can do, and who to contact when questions come up.
Choose by the need
Two services. Two different reasons families reach out.
Start with the need that best describes what is happening at home. You can still contact Harbor if you are not sure which service fits.
Daily routines need more hands-on or stand-by support.

Care Begins With a Conversation
Finding reliable support at home should feel clear and personal. Harbor Home Healthcare guides families through each step—from the first conversation to ongoing support—so they can understand what comes next and move forward with confidence.
-
Contact Harbor
Start with a conversation. Tell us about your loved one’s needs, the type of support you are considering, your preferred schedule, and any questions you may have.
-
Complete a Personal Assessment
We take time to understand the client’s routines, preferences, daily-living needs, and safety considerations. For personal-care services, Harbor’s supervising nurse completes an assessment.
-
Create a Personalized Care Plan
Harbor develops a written care plan describing the planned services, schedule, caregiver responsibilities, personal preferences, and important instructions for support at home.
-
Prepare and Assign a Qualified Caregiver
Harbor considers the client’s care needs, requested schedule, caregiver qualifications, relevant experience, communication style, and availability when assigning a caregiver.
-
Begin Care With Ongoing Support
Once services begin, Harbor remains available to coordinate services, answer questions, and review changes that may affect the client’s needs, schedule, or written care plan.
