Which Path Applies?

Start with the way you expect care to be paid for.

The two payment paths Harbor currently presents are Cardinal Care Virginia Medicaid managed care and direct private pay.

Medicaid Waiver Coverage

If you are enrolled in a Virginia Medicaid waiver program.

Personal care or respite services may be covered when the client has been screened, approved, and authorized for those services through the applicable Cardinal Care managed care plan.

Harbor coordinates authorization and billing with the managed care plan

Private Pay

If Medicaid waiver coverage does not apply.

Families may arrange services directly with Harbor on a private pay basis without a Medicaid screening or managed care authorization for the private-pay arrangement.
